Better Together (Scotland's Patient Experience Programme) was established in 2008 and there has been a lot of work carried out to decide how best to collect patients' experience and how to support improvement work. This work has been overseen by a Project Board and Delivery Group.
This work is supported by various sub-groups:
- Measuring Experience
This sub-group is advising the Coordination Centre as it develops ways of collecting patients' experience on behalf of NHSScotland. It produces a framework contract of Approved Contractors for use by NHS Boards to undertake fieldwork.
- Building on Experience
This working group is advising
Patient Perspective and
CRFR which collects information on what is important to patients, carers and NHS Staff; and gains information from NHS Boards on how patient experience information is currently collected and used.
- Learning from Complaints
This working group is advising
Information Services Division (ISD) as it improves the collection and use of information from NHS complaints.
- Better Together Improvement Partnerships This sub-group is working in partnership with NHS Boards and partner organisations to improve patient experience through existing improvement programmes and to develop resources to support Boards to undertake this work.
- Executive Board Leads This sub-group has representation from each NHS Board in Scotland is responsible for informing the work of the programme from a local board perspective.
