The Programme Board, which is chaired by Angela Donaldson, Arthritis Care in Scotland, is responsible for overseeing the work of the Programme.
This group consists of representatives from NHSScotland, the Scottish Government and other partner organisations including Glasgow Centre for Inclusive Living, Braveheart, NHS Forth Valley, NHS Lanarkshire. The Board is responsible for the overall direction of the programme's work, and providing direction to the Programme sub-groups. The Board holds the Delivery Group to account on the implementation of the Programme.
The last programme Board will be held on the 26th of November, where a new structure will be discussed to ensure the programme is aligned with the NHS Quality Strategy.
The Delivery Group consists of the subgroup chairs, Programme Director and core Programme Team and is responsible for the implementation of the programme, as set out by the Programme Board.
Wider consultation is also built into the programme through workshops and visits with Health Boards and other organisations. At these meetings and workshops NHS Boards have the opportunity to influence the Programme as it is developed.
In addition, three consumer panels of patient and the public are consulted at regular stages as the programme is developed. The panels cover the whole of Scotland and take place in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness. The consumer panels are organised by the Scottish Health Council on behalf of the Better Together Programme.
Day-to-day responsibility for the programme's work lies with the Better Together Programme Team (Scottish Government), led by the Programme Director and the Coordination Centre.
