Mission Statement

  • It is here to improve the health of the people of Orkney by working in partnership
  • It will provide quality assured, appropriate health services that are accessible and responsive to local need
  • It will work within the framework and resources provided by the Scottish Government Health Department

Objectives

  • To implement the Local Delivery Plan and thereby improve the health of the people of Orkney
  • To ensure safe, high quality services are provided which meet evidence-based standards and which are delivered in the most appropriate setting for the patient
  • To operate within its financial resource allocation and move towards achieving recurring balance by 2007/08
  • To ensure its services are culturally competent and reflect equality and diversity
  • To further promote joint-working with partner agencies, in particular through the Community Health Partnership
  • To continue to be a key stakeholder in North of Scotland regional working
  • To implement the actions for NHS Boards detailed in 'Delivering for Health'
