The questionnaire and guidance manual have now been approved by the North West Ethics committee and are available below for information and to help you plan for January. Changes to the manual from last year are highlighted in red.

In June 2010 Carol Sinclair the Director of the Better Together Programme wrote to NHS Boards to:

Give NHS Boards the opportunity to provide feedback on the 2009/10 survey roll-out.
To provide a timeline for publication of the 2009/10 inpatient survey
To outline arrangements for the roll-out of the 2010/11 inpatient survey.

Providing Patient Population Figures to Scottish Government

The patient population figures are used to calculate the required sample size and the list of patients in the population can then be used to draw your sample.

There has been some confusion around which patients should be included in the population figures provided to the Scottish Government and this guidance should hopefully clarify things:

These sampling template spreadsheets can be used to draw you sample and to assign unique ID numbers to patients. Please use the hospital (or subsite) codes specified in the templates.
